Fitting Holidays in My Plans

Found this written in my diary from 3 years back. Took me a lot of time to turn it into a blog. As I look back, it was a good idea to jot it down. I was in early stages of trying my writing skills. (nothing has changed till now though :P) Sharing as it is…

I am an engineer, and I am busy. When it comes to exercise, its hard for me to find 30 minutes. And I don’t feel bad about that, because I have all necessary analogies set in mind that helps me count my walk till coffee machine, car, mall, barber shop etc count as exercise. About the time I kill in social media, is the time in office, well few hours at home too… but… it fits between the schedule, keeps me up to date with my circles.. and dozen other reasons helps me sideline the topic for now. But when I see my calendar of last year and I don’t find even a single beach holiday, no waterfall visits, no lake boat rides, no hill station visits; I doubt my idea of work-life balance. I got to do more than few garden walks…

The thing is that I am not alone. There are millions of us. So let me share what is the change I am making in my definition of Work-Life Balance. It is based on some routine data collected by myself in excel sheet regarding my schedule, timesheet at work, expense sheets and my discussions with my friends of age 60+.
